Micronutrients in Maize Cultivation

Beyond biostimulation, our biostimulat contains micronutrients that plays a crucial role in maize cultivation. This is particularly vital in intensive farming, absence of manure fertilisation, or soil conditions hindering micronutrient absorption.

Importance of Zinc:

• Foliar application: 300 to 500 g Zn/ha, in one or two treatments from the 4-leaf stage
• Benefits: enhances nitrogen utilisation, protein synthesis, disease and drought resistance, grain yield, and photosynthetic activity.
• Zinc deficiency results in delayed flowering and reduced grain yield.

Role of Boron:

• Recommended foliar application: 4-6 leaf stage.
• Benefits: promotes generative development, pollination, and grain filling, increases stem rigidity, prevents lodging and pest attacks.
• Deficiency leads to poor flowering, irregular grain filling, and reduced yield.

Other Micronutrients:

• Copper: enhances nitrogen absorption, pollination, grain and ear development.
• Manganese: fosters root development and photosynthesis.
• Iron: vital in photosynthesis and respiration.
• Molybdenum: influences nitrogen metabolism, and phosphorus incorporation into organic structures, and increases protein content in grains.
